Our beautiful country Romania is located at the carrefour between Central and Southeastern Europe, and it is actually the 8th largest country of the European Union by area, its 19,7 million population (Romanian 84%, Hungarian 6.1%, Gipsy 3.1%, German 0.2%, Ukrainian 0.2%, according to 2014 reports) being spread on a total of 92,043 sq. miles (238,391 sq. km). As far as tourism is concerned, Romania is made of a wide array of attractions, including historical cities (Sibiu, Sighisoara, Alba Iulia, Brasov, Iasi, Cluj-Napoca, Bucharest, the capital) and well-known landmarks such as castles (Peles Castle from Sinaia) or very old forts (Bran Castle, near Brasov, Hunyad Castle near Deva, Sarmisegetusa ruins or Roman traces in Dobrogea), beautiful Carpathian mountains, beaches at the Black Sea seaside and fantastic countryside roads, passing through charming villages, remained faithfull to their millenary traditions.

Romania has 6 already famous historical regions: Transylvania, Banat & Crisana, Bucovina & Moldova, Dobrogea, Maramures, Walachia and many beautiful cities and/or landscapes that worth to be visited by any tourist, at least once in a life:

– Bucharest, the capital, where main attractions are House of People built during Communist period, Museum of Village – a treasure of traditions from all the country concentrated in the heart of the capital, Royal Palace with its Gallery of Art that boasts works of Grigorescu, Tonitza, Luchian, Andreescu and the history of one blooming time, Kisseleff boulevard which gave the “Little Paris” nickname to this city before the 2nd World War;

– Sibiu, a traditional city which was EU Cultural Capital during 2010 and has all the historical city center intact almost, plus a Museum of Art and many other attractions;

– Timisoara, the Banat jewel, where the Revolution from 1989 started;

– Cluj-Napoca, the city of old & new, where studying the best youngsters and with a tradition in education in medicine, literature and philosophy, psichology;

– Iasi, a Moldavian crown city, the cradle of our genius poets and writers Mihai Eminescu, Ion Creanga, musicians and composers like George Enescu (author of Romanian Rhapsody) or Ciprian Porumbescu (The Ballad – considered as the spirit of Mioritza, our masterpiece popular legend);

– Suceava with the famous medieval painted Monasteries like Voronetz, Moldovitza, Agapia etc.

Last but not least, Romania is enjoying the fame of preserving very well natural environment, having sites under UNESCO protection, with flora and fauna which are unique and rarely found in the world:

– Retezat Mountains, Apuseni Mountains, Transfagarasan spectacular Road which is leading through the Fagaras Mountains (over 2500 m) from Walachia to Transilvania, Piatra Craiului or Ceahlău, in a word – Carpathian chain which is very spectacular and wild;

– Black Sea seaside, famous by nightlife and many entertainment possibilities, as well as for the rebel sea which is quite unique in this side of the Europe;

– Danube Delta, the unique natural and the youngest territory formed by the river Danube. The river branches into three main channels into the delta, Chilia, Sulina, and Saint George. The last two branches form the Tulcea channel, which continues as a single body for several kilometers after the separation from the Chilia. At the mouths of each channel gradual formation of new land takes place, as the delta continues to expand;

– Jewels of places with currant properties and Balneo & wellness in Baile Herculane, Baile Felix, Sovata, Praid Salina or Slanic Prahova, Slanic Moldova etc.
